How Apple Cider Vinegar Can Help Weight Loss

Recent research published in BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health suggests that apple cider vinegar may aid weight loss and improve metabolic parameters related to obesity and metabolic disorders.

The study, conducted on 120 overweight or obese individuals, found that daily consumption of apple cider vinegar resulted in significant weight loss and reduction in body mass index (BMI) over 12 weeks.

Participants who consumed 15ml of apple cider vinegar daily experienced the most significant weight loss, with an average decrease of 6-8 kg in weight and a drop in BMI from 31 to nearly 27.

Even lower doses of apple cider vinegar, such as 10ml and 5ml, led to notable reductions in weight and BMI.

The study also observed improvements in waist and hip measurements and body fat ratio among participants consuming apple cider vinegar.

Apart from aiding weight loss, apple cider vinegar has other potential health benefits, including reducing inflammation, improving digestion, and stabilizing blood sugar levels.

However, excessive consumption of apple cider vinegar may lead to tooth enamel erosion, so it's advisable to dilute it with water or incorporate it into recipes like smoothies or dressings.

Further research is needed to explore the underlying mechanisms and long-term effects of apple cider vinegar consumption, but these findings offer promising insights into its potential role in managing obesity and metabolic disorders.
